Take the next step

If you’re looking for a spring hockey experience without unnecessary pressure or cost, Breakaway Hockey is the right fit.

Different by Design

Breakaway Spring Hockey offers a truly different approach to spring hockey. We are one of the few programs that does not run tryouts or hand-pick teams. Instead, we intentionally bring players together from different centres and levels to create an environment focused on growth, confidence, relationships, and enjoyment of the game — without the pressure that comes with the winter season.

With 18 years of experience running the Breakaway Hockey program, including 10 years fielding tournament teams in the Kitchener–Waterloo area, our focus has always remained the same:

• Competitive hockey
• Affordable pricing
• A positive, developmental experience for every player

Our pricing is among the most reasonable in the region, giving families access to quality spring hockey without the financial strain.

Why It Matters

Spring hockey provides an opportunity to rebuild those skills in a positive environment, surrounded by peers who share the same passion for the game. Years later, players don’t talk about the level they played. They remember the road trips, the laughs, the friendships, and the memories. That’s what Breakaway Hockey delivers.

Simple. Competitive. Affordable. Meaningful

Spots are limited.
Teams are assembled to create the best competitive balance, and not all applicants can be accepted. Don’t miss out.
Join a program built on experience, purpose, and a genuine passion for the game.

Real Hockey Development

Many hockey players spend year after year with the same teammates, systems, and coaches. While familiarity can be comfortable, it can also limit growth. At Breakaway Hockey, we challenge players to:

  • Step outside their comfort zones
  • Adapt to new teammates and roles
  • Build confidence in unfamiliar situations

Today’s athletes need more than skill development. They need to learn how to:

  • Build relationships with new teammates
  • Communicate and lead
  • Handle adversity and disappointment
  • Stay confident when things aren’t easy

That’s why our teams are intentionally built with a mix of A, AA, and AAA players. This environment promotes resilience, humility, leadership, and accountability—skills that extend far beyond the rink.
